Mohd Zabidi Md Nor is currently the Director of Islamic Banking and Takaful Department, Bank Negara Malaysia. He is responsible for strategic development and market surveillance, internationalisation strategy, talent development, shariah and prudential policies for the Islamic banking and takaful sectors with the objective to promote a sound and robust Islamic financial sector.

Mohd Zabidi Md Nor has served the Bank Negara Malaysia for 20 years and had previously been the Director of Prudential Financial Policy Department where he led and provided oversight role as well as technical advice on the development and implementation of key of prudential regulation such as Basel II and Basel III regulations for banks & risk-based capital framework for Insurance, prudential standards on corporate governance, securitisation, liquidity ,derivatives, structured products and financial reporting standards (mainly provisioning and fair value related standards).

Mohd Zabidi Md Nor holds a Bsc. Econ (Accounting and Finance) from the London School of Economic and is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant and a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountant (MIA). He currently serves as a council member of the MIA and chairs the Audit and Risk Management Committee of the MIA. He is a member of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) Technical Committee and chairs the IFSB Working Group on Supervisory Review Process for Takaful Operators.
